Shanghai wird durch den Huangpu-Fluss in zwei Seiten geteilt: die ältere am Westufer gelegene Seite Puxi und die neue am Ostufer gelegene Seite Pudong. Die Videoinstallation SHANGHAI zeigt die beiden Seiten der Stadt vom Fluss aus gesehen in zwei gegenüberliegenden Projektionen. Wie eine 3D-Kulisse zieht die Skyline von Pudong, Chinas Finanz- und Handelszentrum mit Gebäuden wie dem dem Oriental Pearl Tower, dem Jin Mao Building und dem Shanghai World Financial Center vorbei. Die Kamerafahrt entlang des Westufers zeigt den Bund, eine lange Uferpromenade mit zahlreichen historischen europäischen Kolonialbauten. Das Custom House wurde dem Big Ben des Westminster Palastes nachempfunden. Der Klang der Glocken ist weit über die Stadt zu hören und bildet die Klangbasis für diese Videoinstallation.

Shanghai is divided by the Huangpu River into two sides: the elderly, on the western side of the river with a long promenade the Bund, with its many historic European colonial buildings and, the new on the east bank side, Pudong. Like a 3D scene, the skyline of Pudong, China's financial and commercial center with buildings such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Jin Mao Building and Shanghai World Financial Center pass by. The Custom House was modeled like the Big Ben of Westminster palace. The sound of the bells is to be heard far beyond the city and forms the sound basis for this video installation.
